American filmmaker Dan Woolley found himself trapped in his Port-au-Prince, Haiti hotel last week during the 7.0 earthquake that destroyed the city. Injured and alone, Woolley used the American Heart Association’s Pocket First Aid iPhone app as a guide for treating his wounds. The application instructed him how to create a tourniquet for his leg as well as how to recognize if he was going into shock.
