Join me in my efforts to support American Heart Association - Phoenix, AZ - PMA!

My daughter Eliza and I are fighting heart disease and stroke by participating in the American Heart Association’s Start! Heart Walk as part of The annual team representing Molly's Walkers.

Each of you know my passion for this event, fostered by the memory of my dear friend Mary Lee's daughter Molly.

Our beautiful Molly was born in Seattle, 9/11/75. She graduated with honors from Shorecrest High, 6/94, moving to Tucson where she received an Associate Degree from Pima Community College. Her plans to secure a BSN at NAU were interrupted when she contracted a virus, Giant Cell Myocarditis which destroyed her heart. Following a successful heart transplant at Univ. Med. Ctr. in Tucson, 11/97, she returned to Seattle to share her story with 1,200 Shorecrest students who had supported her with prayers and get well wishes while she waited for her new heart and she returned to school full time at the U of A School of Nursing. She suffered heart failure and died at UMC in Tuscan on 2/11/99 at age 23.

Molly’s life was full of activities including soccer, skiing, river rafting, water ballet, tap dance, ballet, singing and horseback riding. She played the viola and had lead roles in two school dramatic productions.

I have set a personal goal to raise $1000 in funds needed for critical heart disease and stroke research and education. You can help me raise funds and protect those you love by making a donation online. Click on the link http://bit.ly/formolly to visit my personal donation page where you can make a secure online credit card donation. The American Heart Association's online fundraising website has a minimum donation amount of $25.00. If you prefer a smaller amount, you can do so by sending a check directly to me. Your donation will make a difference in the fight against our nation's No. 1 and No. 3 killers-heart disease and stroke. Thank you for your support.
